Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving has become my favorite holiday. It is the quietest and most simple of all the holidays. Thank goodness it has not become totally commercialized and it still a day to reflect on the blessings of your life. Thanksgiving is pretty quiet at our house. We have relatives over for the "big meal" but our children are all practically grown and pitch it so it is relatively easy. We have plenty of time to just enjoy the time together. This year I didn't even shop on Black Friday...I was very content to just spend the time with my family here at home.

I'm looking forward to Christmas and love this holiday but I am not looking forward to the hectic days that surround it. My goal this year is to slow down and focus more on the Christ of Christmas and not the commercialization. Hopefully I'll be successful and accomplish this one.
